2024 Summer@Powhatan Camp
Welcome to Summer@Powhatan, an auxiliary program at Powhatan School for area elementary and middle school aged students! The goal of Summer@Powhatan is to provide activities that encourage our philosophy of educating lifelong learners who use their knowledge, creativity, and character to be confident citizens and leaders in an ever-changing world. The disciplines of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics are woven into campers' daily activities, supporting their use of critical thinking and creative approaches toward interacting in the world around them.
Each morning your child will be greeted by their counselors as they are dropped off and can look forward to a variety of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day. This will include exploring the main campus plus the trails and natural spaces on the adjoining Crocker Conservancy, investigating wildlife, creating art, experimenting in the Science Lab, trailblazing in the Innovation Lab, engineering in our state-of-the-art Makerspace, and having lots of fun! We will break for lunch at noon. Lunch will be outside picnic style, if weather permits.
So that you can share in the experience, you will receive a newsletter with information and pictures from your child's day! We look forward to meeting all of our students and families when Summer@Powhatan starts on June 24th! Please contact Amanda Fry, Auxiliary Programs Manager, with any questions. Have a great summer!
